Got a 2-1/2" hitch but need to run 2" accessories? This Big Truck Big RV magnetic reducer sleeve bridges the gap. Slide it into place and feel the magnets grab. Add a ball mount or carrier, slide in your hitch pin, and go.
Reducers without magnets can slide around or fall out while you're trying to line up the pin, and that gets frustrating fast. This one's different. Magnets hold the sleeve in your 2-1/2" receiver so you're not wrestling with it, and the slot on the side gives you wiggle room so you don't have to line it up perfectly. Once your accessory is in place, slide the pin through to secure it. The magnets make setup easier, but the pin is what keeps the reducer from falling out when the receiver is empty.
Some adapters cut down your towing rating. This one doesn't. You keep the full capacity of your 2-1/2" receiver while running 2" accessories.
This red sleeve works on its own or pairs with the black BTBRV 3" to 2-1/2" reducer (sold separately). Together, they step a 3" receiver down to 2".
JD's the guy behind Big Truck Big RV and he doesn't just slap his name on gear he doesn't use. He's been towing long enough to know what works and what doesn't. He's used this reducer, trusted it, and put it through real trips with his own family riding along. If it says BTBRV, it's been tested in the kind of conditions that separate the good stuff from the junk.

Hello neighbor, this is Curt with etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Big Truck Big RV Magnetic Hitch Reducer for two and 1/2 inch down to a two inch hitch. Now if you're somebody that has a truck with a two and 1/2 inch hitch, you've probably run into a situation where you either need to use a ball mount or a hitch accessory that has a two inch shank, making it too small for your two and 1/2 inch receiver. That is where this hitch reducer is going to come in. But what's gonna separate this from other hitch reducers out there is the fact that it's magnetic and therefore it's gonna have a really good hold inside of our receiver. The reason why being magnetic and keeping in place is so important is that once you put a reducer sleeve in and you go ahead and you take your ball mount and you're trying to line up your pinhole, you're often kind of shifting it back and forth. And if this isn't held in place really well, it's gonna shift your reducer sleeve as well as your ball mount.
And then you've got all kinds of issues. It's very frustrating 'cause you just can't get anything really lined up. So having those magnets on there to really give us a good hold in there is crucial if you want to easily swap ball mounts down to a smaller shank like a two and 1/2, two and two inch. But the other great thing about it as well is that there is a lip down here at the bottom that's gonna make it easy for you to take out of your hitch. It's got a really good hold.
So having that on there is a tremendous help. The other great thing about it is that it's got a red powder coat with an e-coat, so that's gonna make it extremely corrosion-resistant, which is a nice peace of mind when you have days like we have right now. The other great thing that makes it very, very versatile is that the pinhole opening for it is ovular, which means, you know, there are all types of hitches out there. You may have a factory, two and 1/2 inch hitch, or you may have gotten an aftermarket two and 1/2 inch hitch and all of them have slightly different pin locations in regards to the opening of the receiver. this is gonna help out a lot because this is just gonna make it more universal, making you confident that really any two and 1/2 inch hitch that you have, you're gonna be able to make this work and make your pin hole lineup easily.
So all of that with the magnets and that open pinhole is just gonna just reduce a lot of the headache people get when it comes to reducer sleeve. And the last really, really nice thing about this is that there are a lot of reducer sleeves out there that can actually reduce the weight capacity for your tongue weight and for your towing weight. That is not gonna be the case with this reducer. You'll be able to maintain whatever the tow capacity and tongue weight capacity is of your hitch because this is not an extension, it's simply a reducer. And if you have a three inch to two and 1/2 inch reducer sleeve from Big Truck Big RV, feel free to use this with that.
That way you're able to take your three inch hitch and reduce it all the way down to a two inch hitch. And at etrailer, we offer this in a combo package. So if you want the most versatility out of your three inch hitch, go ahead and get that combo. So that's a look at the Magnetic Hitch Reducer from two and 1/2 to two inches from Big Truck Big RV.
